Kedarnath and Badrinath are two most famous Hindu Shrine where every hindu wishes to go once in their lifetime. Kedarnath shrine is one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva is situated in at an altitude of 3584 meters, amidst the snow-clad Rudra Himalayan range and on the banks of river Mandakini. Due to extreme cold weather, the temple is open to public only between the months of April and November. Badrinath on the other hand is one of the four sacred and important pilgrim sites of char Dham Yatra situated in Uttarakhand. This sacred town is named after the Badrinath temple devoted to the preserver, Lord Vishnu. In this journey visit some other religious places and temples such as Bharat Mandir in Haridwar and witness the evening Ganga Aarti after sunset. Take a dip in Tapt Kund, a customary bathe before entering Badrinath temple. On the return journey visit Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Shivananda Ashram, and Triveni Ghat. You can also visit Chandi Devi & Mansa Devi Temple while driving back to Delhi.
The Gangotri – Yamunotri Yatra or Do Dham Yatra covers first Two Dhams in the Chota Chardham Circuit. The Yatra begins by travelling to Haridwar from Delhi and visiting Haridwar temples and witnessing ganga river aarti after the sunset, the pilgrims float ‘dia’ lamp in the river. Next day travel to Barkot, on the way visit Kempty falls. Start the trek to Yamunotri and visit the Divya shila and take a dip in the Surya kund. Yamunotri, is one of the Char Dhams, it is the source of the river Yamuna, the twin sister of Varna, the Lord of Death. Next travel to Uttarkashi visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Shiva, the temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Northern India. Drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil Valley. Visit Gangotri Temple and Submerged Shivling, a natural shivling that remains submerged under water, it can be seen clearly during the winter season when the water level recedes. Next, drive to ‘place of sages’ Rishikesh, a spiritual town on the bank of ganga. Visit the oldest temple of Rishikesh, Bharat Mandir. Visit some of the famous places in Rishikesh such as Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Shivananda Ashram and Triveni Ghat. Ganga and Yamuna are two very significant rivers for Hindus. The spiritual import of these two rivers is simply immense. The Yamuna is believed to free one from the fears of death while Ganga is believed to free one from the burdens of mortal sins. Visit to these two Dhams thus acquire immense spiritual significance for all pious Hindus.
