Chardham Yatra is a journey to visit four most famous Hindu Shrine. The Yatra begins from Haridwar, visiting temples in Haridwar and witnessing Ganga river Aarti after at sunset, the pilgrims / devotees float ‘dia’ lamp in the river. Next travel to Barkot. From here we trek to Yamunotri which is 6 Kms and then visit the Divya shila and take a dip in the Surya Kund. Yamunotri, is a Dham, the source of the river Yamuna, the twin sister of Varna, the Lord of Death. Next travel to Uttarkashi en-route Prakateshwar Cave and visit Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the oldest Shiva temples in Northern India. Drive to Gangotri pass beautiful Harsil Valley. Visit Gangotri Temple and Submerged Shivling, a natural shivling that remains submerged under water, it can be clearly seen during the winter period when the water level recedes. Next, we head towards Guptkashi enroute Molgarh and River Mandakni.
Next day Darshan of Kedarnath Temple shrine is one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva which is situated at an altitude of 3584 meters, amidst the snow-clad Rudra Himalayan range and on the banks of river Mandakini. Due to extreme cold weather, the temple is open to public only between the months of April and Sep. Our next pilgrimage point is travel to Badrinath. Badrinath sacred town named after the Badrinath temple devoted to the Lord Vishnu the preserver. Our journey will include visiting temples in Haridwar and visit to Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Shivananda Ashram, and Triveni Ghat. You can also visit Chandi Devi & Mansa Devi Temple while driving back to Delhi.
